This position is a Job Family. There are four levels to this position.

Level I

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Interacts with end-users, Business Analysts, management and external vendors for troubleshooting and application software analysis. Analyzes programming requests, designs/writes programming specifications and assists in researching mainframe software application issues. Develops expertise in one or several areas of the Mainframe applications.

TYPICAL DUTIES
Meet with end-users and Project Management Office to obtain detailed information about their mainframe application software programming requests.

Works in the analysis phase of the system development lifecycle and consults with users to evaluate program specifications or modifications – Mainframe to include reports layouts, screen layouts, data specifications and any necessary calculation formulas

Assists in researching reported mainframe application software problems and recommends corrective action to senior members of the team.

Assists the Application Support Analysts with mainframe testing

Evaluates application software programs from external sources and recommends design integration with mainframe application software.

Assists Business Analysts in the analysis and design of application interfaces that interact directly or indirectly with the institution’s main core system.

Documents and tracks all assigned service desk calls and requests for assistance.

Assists in coordinating vendor problem management and resolution.

Participates in the testing of technology projects for new/modified mainframe application software.

Documents all program and application software additions, deletions or changes using the standard documenting procedures used.

Provides high level of service to all end-users and external vendors.

Keeps the Supervisor of Systems Analysts informed of all aspects on assigned projects.

Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU’s established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).

Other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union.

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work well with others. Member service focused with exceptional follow-up and attention to detail.

Ensures that all information and transactions regarding credit union members and potential members are kept confidential.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to perform the duties of this position from a work from home setting.

Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Assertive, resourceful self-starter with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills; can understand and express appropriate levels of urgency.

Ability and flexibility to multi-task prioritize and organize multiple projects/tasks concurrently while meeting required deadlines.

Ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines.

General working knowledge of APIs and how they can integrate with core banking systems and other ancillary applications that enhance mainframe applications.

Good working knowledge of PC and various software products.

Good working knowledge of COBOL and/or other high-level programming languages.

Possess the capability to think logically and concentrate for long periods of time.

Bachelors Degree or equivalent with three years similar or related experience.

Requires sitting the majority of the day, lifting up to 10 pounds, bending, reaching above and below shoulder level occasionally.

Providing quality service is the primary responsibility of this position. Quality service means treating members and coworkers with respect and courtesy at all levels whether in person or by telephone as outlined in the Employee Handbook.


Hours of Availability: Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.; On Call Rotation
